About the project

A smaller step
into IELTS practice.

IELTS Practice Lab is an independent starter experiment built around a simple idea: useful practice should be easy to begin and clear to review.

What you can use today

What these materials mean

The reading passages describe fictional projects and settings created for this experiment. They are educational exercises, not reports about real organisations or scientific studies. The prompts and explanations are original; no Cambridge practice passages or official test questions are reproduced here.

These are short skill-building materials. They are not full IELTS tests, calibrated test items, certified teaching materials or a substitute for feedback from a qualified teacher. A score out of six cannot be converted into an IELTS band.

Independent and clearly labelled

This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by IELTS, the British Council, IDP IELTS, or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The IELTS name is used to describe the exam for which learners are preparing.
